Instructor Training

Ever fancied being a bike instructor?

Well, now you can.

Top Run Motorcycle Training run instructor courses that won't just show you what you're supposed to tell the pupil, but how to put the information over in the most effective way.

You will learn how to:

Spot faults the pupils have
Learn how to put them right
Use lesson plans so you don't miss anything out
Use teaching skills to check understanding

Successfully complete the course and you will have a job qualification.

How is instructing structured? Instructor qualifications for teaching learners are split into 3 types;

  • CBT1 instructors are down trained by the training school and can teach CBT and 125cc.
  • CBT-C instructors have to go to the DSA establishment at Cardington and pass the two day supervisor instructor test.
  • Direct Access instructors have to go back to Cardington and pass the DSA's Direct Access test so that they can teach learners on bikes over 46.6bhp.

To be eligible to become an instructor you must:

  • Be over 21 years of age and have held a full unrestricted licence for more than 3 years.
  • You can't have more than 5 points on your licence, must never have been banned from driving, and have no serious criminal convictions.

If you're interested in training to become an instructor, putting something back into biking and, at the same time, meeting new and interesting people, give us a call and let's have a chat about it.
