125cc Training

Before the introduction of Direct Access in 1996, everyone took lessons and their test on a 125cc bike.

Now if you are less than 21 years old a 125cc bike is the maximum you can ride.

Lessons can be taken either in 2 hour blocks, or on courses of 2,3 or 4 days, usually with the test at the end of the course.

On 125 lessons, the DSA limit the number of trainees an instructor can take to a maximum of 4. At Top Run Motorcycle Training we limit the number of pupils to 2.

When you're paying good money for lessons, you don't want to be riding at the back of the group, paying for 6 hours and only getting 1.5 hours in front of the instructor.

You will be in radio contact at all times, with the instructor giving encouragement and guidance.

After passing your test, you will be limited to bikes with a maximum power output of 33bhp for 2 years, unless you turn 21 and take an Accelerated Access test. .....back
